The Arcadists formed in 2007 through social networking site, Craigslist.com. South bay guitarist Rob Simmons (Stellavision, Burlacticus Undertow, Sarah Jane, Mind Zoo, Ruby Sun, Eden Retread, The New Originals),drummer Matt Kurvin (Burlacticus Undertow, Sarah Jane), and SF singersongwriter Erik Kostelnik, found common musical ground with the similar influences in Rock, Rock-a-billy, Ska, and Surf Rock. After a couple successful song writing sessions, Rob and Matt brought in bassist/internet music entrepreneur Jon Luini (Sarah Jane, Stellavision, Mudkats, Deth Specula) to complete the group.

Within weeks starting the project the band had a set of hard hitting rock/pop tunes and hit the pavement running. The Arcadists have worked on honing their new sound and playing many shows spanning the SF Bay Area. With their fan base growing steadily, the group jumped into the studio in 2008 to lay down their first batch of tunes.

The Arcadists self titled full length album is due out in Fall 2009. The group has been working with engineer/producers David Bianco (Ozzy, Dylan, Steve Miller Band) and John Cuniberti (Fleetwood Mac, Dead Kennedys, Joe Satriani) to complete the project.
